In the upper Midwest, the month of July is center stage for full-on summer, with all the heat and humidity creating an incubator for the life force. For many creatures, younglings hatched in the spring begin to venture forth, learning the tricks of their species' trade and bulking up for the dark, cold times that now seem so distant. The plants shift into overdrive, soaking in the Sun's energy and helping to replenish the oxygen we depend on for our survival. If there is an adjective for July, I imagine it would be "exuberance."
“Let us dance in the sun, wearing wild flowers in our hair.”                                                                                                                           Susan Polis Schutz
