In the upper Midwest, this February has brought what some now call an "old fashioned winter." Repeated bouts of snow leave the landscape festooned with a bright, white veneer. The Polar Vortex has now descended, and we are locked in the grip of bone-chilling cold and freezing winds. Having just celebrated the Celtic holiday of Imbolc on February 1st, which falls roughly halfway between the Winter Solstice and Vernal Equinox, one might expect an easing of the season's icy grip, but not this year. As a winter enthusiast, that's fine with me.
“Why, what's the matter, that you have such a February face, so full of frost, of storm and cloudiness?”                                             Shakespeare
